One of the greatest joys of walking my brother’s puppy Bonnie, is I get to go on the most gorgeous walks with her and see (among other wonderful things) the most amazing array of wild flowers. Now in June, it’s the turn of the  humble buttercup.  I enjoyed creating this painting so much, I felt sad when I realised I had finished it.  Big blobs of buttery yellow oil paint, placed in-between the luscious variety of greens. What could be better than that?

This painting is 100cm x 100cm and on a chunky edge canvas.  It’s big but would look fabulous on your wall!!

This is what the painting looked like as it was developing…

Marking out the colours

Filling in all the white gaps with washes of colour

Adding detail and lots of Naples Yellow mixed with white

Nearly finished!

Finished and very happy xxx
