Welcome to my blog! Busy week in my studio this week, along with learning how to put testimonials on my new website (thank you David Ross) and how to add blog posts (fingers crossed with his one) I have also added the final layer of varnish to a finished commission which I will be delivering to the customer next week. Here are a few photos to show the progression of this latest commission ‘Jo’s Bluebell Wood‘. It is oil on canvas and 70 x 70cm.
Another commission from my lovely ballet teacher, who asked me for a skull made up in the style of my flower meadow paintings, is now finished and wrapped ready to be delivered this evening. Here is a photo of the finished skull.
I can’t wait to see this painting hung on the wall of its new home, which is apparently all decorated in black and white. This painting was a bit of a departure for me, I’ve never painted a skull before. But I’m very happy with how it turned out and actually really enjoyed doing it. I’m now wondering if I could pursue this idea further and maybe create other things out of the ‘flower meadow’ design, such as animals or animal skulls. Watch this space!
Right I better get back to my studio, as I only have 4 hours and 15 minutes before I need to pick my children up from school. How short the working day is when you are also a mum!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my first ever blog post!
