Artist: Rachael Townsend

Rachael Townsend is a York based artist, who has previous experience as an award winning textile designer. This has sinced influence her to create beautiful paintings that have a very textural quality.

Her artwork is a deeply personal reflection of her developing philosophies. The themes include fragmented memories and moments captured in time which are portrayed by briefly glimpsed landscapes and symbolic elements, 'everybody makes a journey; everybody moves on...this fascinates me as an artist. We only asses this when there is a huge change incurred to ones' self or to our immediate surroundings'. Rachael's pieces are dirived from this thought and as a result often show movement within an abstracted landscape composition.

Rachael is comfortable producing large canvases in acrylic, oils and particularly watercolour. She is more than happy to do commissions to fulfill your required specifications.
