Artist: Emma Bateman
Emma Bateman currently lives near Howden in East Yorkshire, but spent her childhood growing up in Greece, until moving to a rural Yorkshire farm in 1988.
Emma mostly paints abstracts, drawing inspiration from colour, texture and emotions. Butterflies are a common theme in her work and are used in a surreal and thought-provoking fashion.
Her compositions are created using acrylics on canvas and a textural collage effect is often achieved through the use of added mediums such as glass inks, glitter and oils.
